Welcome to Pawprint. By using our service you agree to these terms. We've kept them short and direct. If anything is unclear, email zhfreeustc@icloud.com.

1. About Pawprint

Pawprint is a service that uses AI to generate memorial wallpapers and short videos from photos of your pet. The service is operated as a sole proprietorship from the United States.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Pawprint. If you are under 18 you confirm your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.

3. Account & identity

We use an anonymous browser cookie to identify you — no signup is required. Adding your email is optional and only used so we can send your finished wallpaper and let you find your account from another device.

Account recovery uses your email plus any of your pet's names. Keep your pet's name private to keep your account secure.

4. Free use & paid plans

• Each new browser/device gets 1 free wallpaper generation.
• Beyond that, you can purchase additional generations or "pay it forward" for other users via three tiers: $1.99, $4.99, $8.99 (USD).
• Pricing is shown clearly before checkout and may change at any time. Past purchases are honored at the price you paid.

5. AI-generated content

• Our AI generates a best-effort interpretation of your pet's photo. Results may not exactly match your pet — generation is probabilistic, not deterministic.
• You retain full rights to: (a) the photos you upload, and (b) the wallpapers and videos we generate from them. You may use them personally or commercially.
• We retain the right to use anonymized samples of generated outputs for marketing (e.g., showcase examples). If you object, email us — we'll honor the request.
• AI services we use (OpenAI, Replicate, ByteDance) have their own terms and data policies. By using Pawprint you consent to your photos being processed by these services.

6. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Upload photos of pets you do not own (unless you have the owner's permission)
• Upload illegal, abusive, harmful, or copyright-infringing content (this includes photos of humans, photos depicting violence, etc.)
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the AI models we use
• Resell access to the service or generated outputs as a service
• Abuse the free quota by repeatedly clearing cookies or using automated tools
• Attempt to access other users' accounts, wallpapers, or data

Violation may result in immediate account termination without refund.

8. Service availability

Pawprint is provided "as is" and on a "best effort" basis. We do not guarantee uptime, generation success, or specific results. We may suspend or modify the service at any time without notice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pawprint and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in the past 12 months (often $0 for free-tier users).

We understand pet loss is sensitive. Generated wallpapers are AI interpretations and not literal recreations — please use them in the spirit they are intended (a keepsake), and seek professional support for grief if needed.

10. Termination

• You may stop using Pawprint at any time. Sign out clears your local cookie.
• We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms, abusive behavior, or to comply with legal requirements.
• Upon termination, generated wallpapers you've already downloaded remain yours. Server-side data may be retained per the Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Illinois. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Illinois.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be announced via email to users with accounts on file.
